Art Auction Begins November 1st

The Shorewood Business District has teamed up with the Shorewood Artists Guild to bring you a Fall Art Auction just in time for the Holiday shopping season! Ten of our businesses are hosting local artists. Check out all of the participating locations to see the amazing work our talented local artists will be selling. Bidding will begin on November 1st and ends at noon on December 6th. Use the QR code to make your bids or visit their website HERE. If you are an artist, pop on over to the Shorewood Artists Guild Facebook Page to connect with your fellow creatives.  What an awesome way to support both local artists and local businesses.

Welcome Our New Businesses!

We’d like to extend a super sweet welcome to Blooming Lotus Gourmet Bakery and Milwaukee Yoga Center who opened recently at 3948 Maryland Avenue. For those who aren’t familiar, Milwaukee Yoga Center recently celebrated their 20 year anniversary. In addition, this is Blooming Lotus Bakery’s 2nd location. (Two different companies with the same owner in the same space) The bakery offers an amazing variety of gluten free, vegan, egg free, grain free, soy free and Kosher treats which are all ridiculously delicious. Stop in and grab some for the Halloween weekend – open Thursday thru Sunday from 9am to 1pm!

Coming Soon!

In spite of the pandemic raging on, we are excited that there are a few businesses heading our way soon. Opening sometime in November (fingers crossed) we are looking forward to checking out Scout Wine. “Luke and I are thrilled to introduce to Scout Wine Merchants to Shorewood. Through Scout we can follow our passions of exploration and discovery all while introducing people to new experiences and products in an environment where the neighborhood can relax and enjoy.” said owner, Emily Laga.  Sign up for their newsletter scoutwinemerchants.com and follow them on Instagram @scoutwinemerchants

We are also anxiously awaiting the arrival of Fiddleheads Coffee Roasters, scheduled to open before the end of the year. Founded in Thiensville, WI, Fiddleheads is a family-owned specialty coffee company with multiple cafes, a small-batch coffee roastery, and artisan bakery. I don’t know about all of you, but to me there is no such thing as too much coffee…

Stay tuned – more businesses coming soon!

Thanks to everyone who has supported and continues to support our small businesses. It does not go unnoticed and we are so very grateful for the support! -Steph Salvia, Executive Director, Shorewood Business Improvement District
